Senior Veteran Home Repair Program

NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, in continued partnership with The Home Depot Foundation, is proud to announce the Senior Veteran Home Repair Program. Only U.S. Armed Forces Veteran homeowners are eligible.  Disabled and senior veterans are particularly encouraged to apply.

Critical home repairs program will focus on 3 main areas:

  • Safety: Roof, steps, door, siding, lighting and electric
  • Warmth: Furnace, weatherization, hot water heater
  • Independence: Accessibility features, ramps, accessible kitchen and bathroom

Qualifications:

In order to qualify, the veteran must be age 50 or over. Rare exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstances for disabled veterans under age 50. The veteran must have received a general or honorable discharge from service (any branch).

In addition, the veteran's home must not be a rental, and must be the primary residence of the veteran.

Finally, the veteran's gross annual household income must fall within U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) limits for low to moderate housing as shown in the table at the bottom of this page.
