Senior Veteran Home Repair Program

NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce their continuing partnership with The Home Depot Foundation, which generously supports the Senior Veteran Critical Repairs program. Only senior veterans (50-years-old or older) of the U.S. Armed Forces who own their own homes are eligible for this program.

Critical home repairs focus on three main areas—warm, safe and dry:

  • Warm: furnace, weatherization, hot water heater, etc.
  • Safe (and independent): steps, windows, doors, lighting, electric, ramps, ADA modifications, accessible kitchens and baths, etc.
  • Dry: roofing, siding, plumbing, etc.

Qualifications:

In order to qualify for this program, a veteran must be age 50 or over and must have received a general or honorable discharge from service (any branch).

In addition, the veteran must own their own the home and it must be their primary residence (no rentals).

Finally, the veteran’s gross annual household income must fall within U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) limits for low to moderate housing as shown in the table at the bottom of this page.

If you or someone you know, meet these requirements, want to find out more about the Senior Veteran Critical Repairs program, or have questions, please call: 770-432-7954, ext. 107. We look forward to hearing from you.
