Home Depot Loves Veterans: Non-Profit Day 2017

The Home Depot LOVES Veterans and we do, too!

On Friday, November 10, 2017, The Home Depot Military Appreciation Group (MAG) hosted their annual Non-Profit Day event. Home Depot employees gathered at the Home Depot Store Support Center in Atlanta. MAG invited more than 40 Non-Profit agencies to attend the event. Invitees included Habitat for Humanity International, Atlanta Habitat, Habitat of North Central Georgia and NW Metro Atlanta Habitat. The invited Non-Profits highlighted how we support the military, veterans and their families. The Home Depot employees were encouraged to learn more about their company’s many Non-Profit partners who reach out to our country’s veterans.

Home Depot employees had fun with many activities on Non-Profit Day. Some employees built the framing for a Habitat house for Atlanta Habitat. Some worked together to build “Play Houses” for six Veteran Habitat families. Three of NW Metro Atlanta’s homeowners received these amazing playhouses. The Alvarado and Williams families chose playhouses for their grandchildren and Tiffany Evans’ children chose a red, white and blue theme for their playhouse.

The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation are long-standing sponsors of Habitat. NW Metro Atlanta Habitat is extremely thankful to be the recipient of their support and appreciates all that the company and their employees do for our community.

All in all, we enjoyed a wonderful day to honor those who have served to keep our freedom!

Thank you Home Depot! We love you!
