General Shale, North Georgia Brick donate supplies for 2018 Habitat home builds

General Shale and North Georgia Brick companies are continuing their partnership with Habitat for Humanity in 2018 by donating 100 percent of the brick and masonry supplies to build all 15 of Smyrna-based NW Metro Atlanta Habitat’s homes this year.

General Shale will be donating all bricks for the homes while North Georgia Brick will be contributing sand, mortar and all other masonry supplies needed. The donations follow the companies’ 2016 donations for 30 houses in honor of NW Metro Atlanta Habitat’s 30th anniversary.

“General Shale considers it a privilege to continue our partnership with NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and assist in providing safe, affordable housing for families,” said Myra Costner, district sales manager for General Shale. “Along with North Georgia Brick, we’re honored that our contribution of brick, mortar and additional masonry supplies will support the construction of 15 new Habitat homes.”

“Enough cannot be said about how helpful these donations will be in changing families’ lives in our community,” said David McGinnis, Habitat president & CEO. “We are blessed to have in-kind sponsors give so generously to help our well-deserving Habitat families.”

NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, an affiliate of the international organization, works with the community to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Since 1986, it has built, renovated and repaired over 500 homes providing safe, decent, affordable homes to well qualified families in Cobb, Douglas and Paulding counties.
