Our Year in 2014

With 2014 behind us, we want to share how you have helped us to make a difference in our community in the last year. Forty individual sponsors and almost 3,000 volunteers made it possible to:

House 15 deserving, hard-working families, which are composed of 47 family members – 27 adults and 20 children. Five of these new homeowners are veterans!

Improve 15 neighborhoods by building nine attractive, high-quality houses and renovating six substandard houses. These houses replaced neglected and blighted properties.

These 15 houses were built and renovated in six towns within two counties. Two houses were renovated in Dallas, GA in Paulding County. The remaining houses were located Cobb County in the following towns: Austell–3; Kennesaw–2; Mableton–4; Marietta–2 and Smyrna–2.

Every new Habitat house built returns $257,000 to the local community during the life of its 25-year mortgage.

With your help, we’re looking forward to doing even more good in our community during the New Year. We are excited to announce the anticipated opening of a ReStore in our service area in the first quarter of 2015!
