Although the volunteers who lead our house construction work very hard, they also have a lot of fun. This picture shows the “change of command.” The Cobb Interfaith Habitat Coalition (CIHC) has been building houses with our affiliate for decades. For the last five or six years, the CIHC build has been lead by Neil Booth or George Davis. This year, long time Gray Ghost David MacKay accepted the team lead. Paul Wilson, the coordinator for the CIHC, thought the transition should be marked with due solemnity. During the initial briefing on the first build day, 8/13, Paul pulls out this construction helmet with a Burger King cardboard crown on it and a decorated toilet plunger ‘scepter‘. To mark the official turnover, George hands over the symbols of office to David. There you have it, a little humor to start the day off right on another Habitat journey!
