On 5/7/2016, the Cobb High School Coalition dedicated its 32nd house with our affiliate. Cindy Ford, Library Media Specialist at Hillgrove High School and Faculty Sponsor of the Hillgrove Habitat Club, shared this lovely Photostory of the dedication with us.
Our affiliate has a long history with Cobb County Schools. The very first two houses built by our affiliate in 1987-1988 were framed by the high school building construction classes of Marietta High School and South Cobb High School. Since 1997, the Cobb High School Coalition has been building houses every year with Habitat. This year, participating schools included Campbell High School, Hillgrove High School, Kell High School, Pope High School, Walton High School and Wheeler High School.
This year, our affiliate recognized the students at participating schools with the 2016 Cobb High School Coalition Award. Each of Habitat Club or Chapter selected a member to receive special recognition for their outstanding efforts. Recipients were:
- Walton High School: Advisor: Dave Dewar
Students: Tim Wang & Chris Cherian - Pope High School: Advisor: Cindy Holland
