Citi Foundation Provides $20,000 Grant to NW Metro Atlanta Habitat Affiliate

Local Grant Complements Volunteer Efforts by Citi Employees in Atlanta

March 25, 2015 – This year, Citi Foundation has provided the NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity affiliate with a $20,000 grant to support their 2015 home-building goals. Atlanta-based Citi employees, who actively volunteer with the affiliate, presented the organization with the ceremonial check during a presentation in late February.

Citi volunteers are gearing up for another great year of working with Habitat. In 2014, 50 Citi volunteers donated their time in a build with the affiliate. In prior years, volunteers have participated in numerous builds with Atlanta affiliates, working primarily in downtown and south of the city.

“We are pleased that the Citi Foundation has provided this second grant to the Northwest Metro affiliate,” said Citi Retail Services Director for Decision Management Jason Gordon. “Our employees, the majority of whom live in Cobb County and the northwestern suburbs, are excited to continue to work with Habitat and make a positive impact in the community where we live and work.”

“Citi is a strong and dedicated partner of NW Metro Atlanta Habitat and we’re proud to be working alongside their team once again in 2015,” said David McGinnis, President & CEO for NW Metro Habitat for Humanity. “This grant along with the strong support and volunteerism by Citi employees gives a tremendous boost to providing affordable homes to deserving families across Cobb, Douglas and Paulding counties.”

Mr. Gordon, who also serves as Citi Atlanta Site President, pointed out that this year’s grant is double the one made in 2014. “This grant will help Habitat carry out its mission of helping ensure that every Cobb County family has a safe, decent place to live. Our employees are anxious to get to work and do their part.”
