Building On Faith

"Building on Faith" mission projects create a unique partnership between NW Metro Atlanta Habitat and the faith community. Together, we build houses as an expression of God’s love so that families and individuals, who meet qualifying criteria, can afford to purchase a new high-quality interest-free home.  NW Metro Atlanta Habitat enjoys a remarkable and dynamic relationship with the communities of faith in Cobb, Paulding and Douglas counties.  Over 30 churches, synagogues and mosques partner with NWMA Habitat every year to build houses, to demonstrate love and caring to families, and to express God's transforming love to and in our neighborhoods. 

The mission emphasis of Habitat for Humanity can be summarized in Millard Fuller's book, "The Theology of the Hammer."  It is the central value of Habitat for Humanity that building houses remain first and foremost an expression of God's love for all people. 

Faith-based sponsorships can be large or small in scale and we have professional staff and volunteers who will guide and work alongside your church volunteers throughout every phase of construction. Feel free to either partner with us independently or join one of our existing church coalitions or even start a new coalition of your own. We have plenty of experience and resources to make this a wonderfully exciting experience for members of your congregation regardless of their experience—there is something for everyone!
