Bricks for 30 New Homes

GeneralShaleSmyrna, GA (April 11, 2016) – Two Georgia based brick companies, General Shale (Rome) and North Georgia Brick Company (Cumming), joined together to donate the bricks needed to build 30 new homes to Northwest Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity in commemoration of its 30th anniversary.

“General Shale is proud to donate these bricks as part of the 30th Anniversary project of Northwest Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and we are delighted to be a part of such a worthy cause,” Charles Smith, General Shale president and CEO, said. “The high-quality masonry products used in these homes will provide long-lasting beauty and sustainability for the new home owners.”

In recent years, General Shale and North Georgia Brick have been involved with other Habitat affiliates in Georgia but this contribution represents their first involvement with the Northwest Metro affiliate.
“Habitat is a valuable partner in the community and we admire the contributions they make to people of Metro Atlanta,” Larry Tarver, Vice President of Sales at North Georgia Brick Company, said. “We believe in what Habitat does and have never been prouder to be your partner.”
In accepting the contribution, David McGinnis, president and CEO of NW Metro Atlanta Habitat, concluded, “We truly appreciate the significance of this donation and the recognition of our 30th anniversary in Cobb, Paulding and Douglas counties. With the generosity of General Shale and North Georgia Brick, we will be able to expand our ministry over the next two years.”
